How does CICosts work?
- You install our GitHub App on your organizations
- We receive webhooks when workflows run
- We calculate costs based on GitHub's published rates
- You see costs in your dashboard
Is CICosts free?
Yes! We offer a generous free tier:
- Up to 3 repositories
- 30 days of history
- Email alerts
How accurate are the cost calculations?
Very accurate. We use:
- Official GitHub Actions pricing rates
- Actual billable minutes from your runs
- Correct runner type detection
Note: We show "gross" costs before free minutes are applied.
Privacy & Security
What data does CICosts access?
Only workflow metadata:
- Run times and durations
- Job names and runner labels
- Repository names
What data does CICosts NOT access?
We never access:
- Your source code
- Repository contents
- Secrets or environment variables
- Commit diffs
Where is my data stored?
- Hosted on secure cloud infrastructure
- Data encrypted at rest and in transit
- Regular security audits
Can I delete my data?
Yes. Go to Settings → Data and click "Delete All Data". This is irreversible.

Technical
Does CICosts work with self-hosted runners?
Self-hosted runners appear in your data but show $0 cost (since they don't have GitHub billing).
Does CICosts track private repositories?
Yes, when you grant access during GitHub App installation.
What about GitHub Enterprise?
Yes, CICosts works with:
- GitHub.com (including Enterprise Cloud)
- GitHub Enterprise Server (coming soon)
How often is data updated?
Cost data updates within 1-2 minutes of workflow completion.
Is there an API?

Troubleshooting
I installed the app but see no data
- Wait 5 minutes for initial sync
- Check that repositories are selected
- Trigger a workflow run
- Contact support if issues persist
My costs don't match GitHub's bill
CICosts shows "gross" costs before:
- Free minutes are deducted
- Enterprise discounts apply
- Credits are applied
Alerts aren't triggering
- Check alert is enabled
- Verify threshold is set correctly
- Check cooldown period
- Review notification settings
I can't connect Slack
- Ensure you have workspace admin rights
- Check Slack app approval settings
- Try disconnecting and reconnecting

How do I change my email?
Settings → Profile → Update email → Verify new email
How do I add team members?
Upgrade to Team plan, then Settings → Team → Invite Member
How do I delete my account?
Settings → Account → Delete Account
This removes all your data permanently.
How do I export my data?
Dashboard → Export → Choose format (CSV/JSON)
