Email Notifications

CICosts sends email notifications for alerts and scheduled reports. Email is included in all plans.

Email Types​

Alert Emails​

Sent when alerts are triggered:

  • Budget threshold alerts
  • Anomaly detection alerts
  • Workflow-specific alerts

Report Emails​

Scheduled cost reports:

  • Daily summaries
  • Weekly reports
  • Monthly reports

System Emails​

Account-related notifications:

  • Welcome email
  • Billing notifications
  • Security alerts

Configuring Alert Emails​

Set Email Recipients​

When creating alerts:

  1. Go to Alerts → Create Alert
  2. Under "Notifications", enable Email
  3. Enter recipient email(s)
  4. Save

Multiple recipients:

  • Separate emails with commas
  • Maximum 10 recipients per alert

Scheduled Report Emails​

Enable Scheduled Reports​

  1. Go to Settings → Reports
  2. Click Create Report
  3. Configure:
    • Report type (daily, weekly, monthly)
    • Time and timezone
    • Recipients
  4. Save

Sent each morning:

Email Preferences​

Manage Preferences​

  1. Go to Settings → Notifications
  2. Configure email settings:
    • Alert emails: On/Off
    • Report emails: On/Off
    • System emails: On/Off (some required)
  3. Save

Unsubscribe​

Each email includes an unsubscribe link:

  • Click "Unsubscribe" in email footer
  • Or manage in Settings

Note: Some system emails (billing, security) cannot be unsubscribed.

Email Deliverability​

Whitelist CICosts​

To ensure delivery, whitelist:

Check Spam​

If not receiving emails:

  1. Check spam/junk folder
  2. Add to safe senders
  3. Check email filters

Verify Email​

Ensure your email is verified:

  1. Go to Settings → Profile
  2. Check email verification status
  3. Resend verification if needed

Troubleshooting​

Not Receiving Alerts​

  1. Check spam folder
  2. Verify email in settings
  3. Confirm alert has email enabled
  4. Check alert isn't in cooldown

Report Not Arriving​

  1. Verify report is enabled
  2. Check scheduled time
  3. Confirm email address
  4. Check email quota (max 100/day)

Wrong Email Address​

Update in Settings → Profile:

  1. Enter new email
  2. Verify new email
  3. Old email stops receiving
